Bullying is a big problem for people that go through it. It knocks their self esteem and makes them lose their confidence, and can make them dread going to school each day. It’s also a huge problem for parents and teachers, because stopping bullying is a hard task and they often don’t know the best ways to go about it.
There are three key elements to stopping bullying: educating the bullies, punishing the bullies, and protecting the victim.
The reason that bullies must be educated is that many of them are not aware of exactly how much they are hurting their victim. Most bullies wouldn’t want their victim to become as suicidal as they have made them.
Bullying can come in all sorts of forms and one that affects girls in particular is a group of socalled friends excluding them from everything. In cases like these if the bullies understood that they had become bullies picking on a victim, they may think twice.
The second way to deal with the bullies is to punish them. This could be the only thing that works for incredibly bad people, because they will only care when it begins to affect them. Bullying often isn’t taken seriously enough, for example, if you punched a person in the middle of the street you would probably be arrested, but if it happens in a case of bullying, the perpetrator might only get a detention.
The final main way to deal with bullying involves working with the victim. Victims of bullying need to their self worth so that they don’t just let people bully them. All in all, there is no one single solution for bullying, but it’s not good enough to ignore it just because it’s hard to deal with. But by using a combination of these three tactics we maybe able to stop it.

They have no clue how much they are affecting someone and how potentially life threatening their actions can be. They may think they are being harmless and just trying to make others laugh but really they are practically killing someone. Little do they know their victim is at home probably crying themselves to sleep every night because of the bully. That's thinking minimalistic, for all they know this poor person is at home laying on the floor barely breathing because they have hurt themselves physically so much they can't breathe. Self-harm is very real and very dangerous. So many people are uninformed on self-harm and how it affects people. It's sad to say but hopefully the temporary self-harm is the end of it. For some victims it is not the end of their sadness and worries. Many people are so depressed that the self-harm isn't enough. It doesn't make them feel better anymore. This may come to the point where they completely give up and commit suicide. Suicide is a very complex topic that almost no one understands. Many people just think they are running from their problems and they only hurt their families but it's so much more than that. Hopefully the victims do not get to the point of suicide but that doesn't mean life goes back to normal and they are automatically happy again. Many victims of bullying suffer from post traumatic…

Bullying has become an epidemic, and it needs to come to an end. If people will stand up for each other and protect each other, I believe bullying would cease to be effective. It preys on those who do not have the confidence to defend themselves. Often times, the bully hurts others as a way of protecting himself. He believes that if he attacks others, then they will not know he himself is hurting, or has been hurt in the past. It becomes a coping mechanism for him. The biggest thing to keep in mind is that bullying should not be responded to with more violence. They need to be shown love, but firm love. A love that says, “I love you enough to not let you continue down this path. Let me show you another way.” Then you are not only l protecting those that the bully hurts, but also you are protecting the bully himself in the long run.…

As stated by Dr. Stuart Twemlow, he “…recommends targeting anti-bullying efforts at either the bullies nor the victims but a third party:bystanders who watch bullying…” He states this because schools that focus on punishing the bullies and counseling the victims report more violence compared to those who focus on educating the bystanders. That way it is beµer to get bystanders to stop the bullying problem before it even begins, as they are the ones that are on the scene at the time. One simple thing from a bystander can help so much in preventing the issue from escalating. In the end, most of us are both the bully and the victim and that bullying is less than that of a contagion, but more of an unfortunate fact of…
