Preface This new revised 10th edition of the style manual supersedes all previous versions, and like them is intended to help you get the most out of your written assignments. As such it contains not only the rules, procedures and conventions for academic writing but also examples of some common errors you can easily avoid. You may already know the information contained in here, however you are advised to either print a copy or save a download and keep it to refer to when you are preparing your assignments, remember that poor writing, spelling and inaccurate referencing will lose you marks. Please note some assignments will have more specific guidelines for the presentation of material in which case they will take precedence over the guidelines given here. If you are in doubt check with the module leader.
