Social Networking - a Boon to the Modern Society

I am sure all of us are well aware of the tragic incident that had happened recently in th city The city of Mumbai . Triple bomb blast took place on july 13ty this year which led to the death of 17 people and 130 were injured and that too within the time period of 10 min.

What followed the blasts, was a complete state of panic & chaos in the city

The telephone networks collapsed, almost paralysing the communication between panic-stricken victims and relatives, and their concerned well-wishers. However, the most powerful tool in modern Internet technology, social networking, came to the rescue.

Twitter, Facebook, Google and other similar networking sites have played a major role in helping the blast victims. For example, well-wishers posted messages that asked for blood donations from willing volunteers, and a large number of people responded to such calls. Other posts asked for help with food, accommodation and other facilities for the needy. emergency contact numbers - for hospitals and police stations available on this sites - were really very helpful . The city united on this medium to bail out their fellow citizens in need of help. I am trying to throw light on the subject“ DO SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES HELP in improving OUR LIVES”. We human being, considered to be the most intelligent & unique creation of god are social creatures.. But in today’s fast & hectic lifestyle where we hardly get any time to spend with our family , Do we really have the time & energy to socialize? Thus the emergence of popular SNS like LinkedIn, Facebook , Myspace , Twitter came almost as a boon to the society & have taken the world by a storm leading to nothing less than a revolution.

Just imagine, After a busy & tiresome day, its a great relaxation for us to sit in front of our pc & with a few strokes on the keyboard & a few clicks on the mouse we are connected to the virtual world sharing, viewing & exchanging our likes/interests/achievement with like minded...
