Background of the Study
Facebook is the most popular free networking site that allows registered users to create profiles, upload photos and video, send messages and keep in touch with friends, family and colleagues. Facebook has more than 500 million active users. Users may create a personal profile, add other users as friends and exchange messages, including automatic notifications when they update their profile. Additionally, users may join common interest user groups, organized by workplace, school, or college, or other characteristics. By Facebook, we can easily communicate with our relatives’ outside the country. Facebook allows anyone who declares them to be at least 13 years old to become a registered user of the website. Even though facebook helps us in many ways, there’s still an effect on us.
According to the study and based also in my experience, facebook is addicting because you can stalk someone and see the photos of your friends from different locations, add a lot of friends as a competition against your friends, play games with your friends on some social networking sites and the excitement of putting a “status” is indeed exciting. As many of the 4th year high school students use these social networking sites as a way to increase their friendship with others, some have become addicted to it. We give a lot of time in exploring in facebook or in other social site than doing first our assignments or project that why we rush on time if the deadline of it is near.
For me, we don’t need to blame facebook and other social sites, why we got a low grades in our examination, it’s our fault. It’s up to you if you’re going to continue using facebook in more than an hour a day. We, as students must know how to use facebook in the right way, so

that we could manage our time between studies and facebook. Facebook give more positive impact for students, the disadvantages will occur when they abuse facebook.
