“Man, when perfected, is the best of animals, but when separated from law and justice, he is the worst of all”. In the Following essay I will look at similarities between Aristotle’s quote and different topics discussed in class. The three main topics that I will analyze in the essay are the banana incident at the John Labatt Center, information from the Rwandan genocide from the book Left To Tell, and finally the catholic social justice principles. The first topic that I will look at how they are similar to Aristotle’s quote is information on the Rwandan genocide through the book Left To Tell. The first part of Aristotle’s quote “Man, when perfected, is the best of animals”, is relevant to events in Left To Tell when the pastor who was a member of the Hutu tribe hid Immaculée and a few other Tutsi women who he was supposed to kill on sight, but he risked his life to hide them from the Hutu’s who were roaming around looking for Tutsi’s to kill. The other part of Aristotle’s quote when he says when separated from law and justice, he is the worst of all” is relevant to events in left to tell because you see how heartless and viscous people can be for no reason in this book when people that Immaculee grew up with as friends, neighbors ect were running around looking for Tutsi me, women, and children to kill. So the book left to tell is very relevant to Aristotle’s quote. The Second Topic that I will analyze in relation to Aristotle’s quote is the fan threw the banana at Wayne Simmonds African American player for the Philadelphia Flyers at the John Labatt Center on September 22nd 2011. Aristotle’s quote relates to the incident at the john Labatt Center because it show how disrespectful and inconsiderate some people are to the feelings of others. Throwing a banana at the player was a very disrespectful and unnecessary thing for the fan to do, the fan is saying it wasn’t meant In a racist way and that he was just...
