México no podía quedar al margen de la influencia de este deporte, tan popular ya en otras partes del mundo, y por los años de 1898 se tienen noticias que tanto los Hermanos Maristas como los Jesuitas en sus colegios hacían practicar este deporte a sus alumnos. Cuando los ingleses, Mineros en Pachuca, e Hilanderos en Orizaba, empezaron a practicarlo, encontraron campo propicio, por aquella semilla latente, y pronto se popularizó y fue jugado en público.

La historia oficial del fútbol en México comienza a principios del siglo, cuando una empresa minera organiza el equipo Pachuca Atlético Club. Las empresas de origen extranjero fueron las primeras en difundir el deporte, entre ellas las inglesas y las francesas.

México fue uno de los últimos países en entrar al mundo del futbol tras las colonias que vinieron a México a conquistarnos.

Orígenes.
En 1902 se constituyó la liga Fútbol Asociación Amateur, con cinco equipos; "Orizaba Athetic Club", "Pachuca Athletic Club", "Reforma Athletic Club", "México Country Club", "British Club", terminando con todo éxito la primera competencia formal siendo el Orizaba el que resultó triunfante y por ello es este equipo el primer campeón de Fútbol que tubo México.

Al llegar el año de 1912 los elementos españoles y mexicanos se empezaron a organizar para formar equipos y jugar en público lo que originó la formación del "Club México".
Este tuvo tanto éxito que logró obtener el campeonato 1912-13 y vino con eso a terminar casi en forma definitiva con el reinado de los equipos Ingleses.

Al año siguiente se formó el Real Club España,siendo el propio "México" quien aportó un gran número de jugadores españoles. El Club España estaba llamadoa dar muchas de sus mejores glorias al Fútbol mexicano.
