Snowshoe, a trip into the forest
On Thursday, February 14th, 2013, a trip called Snowshoe was set up for the students in Community College of Denver as a chance for them to explore the forest in Nederland, Colorado. Right on the Valentine's day, the school's officers decided to run a trip for new students in college to camp on the mountain and enjoy the beauty of Colorado. The host of this event Jerry said: " We want the new students to have a chance to learn more about Colorado, improving their English and also to have some fun. Moreover, this is a new opportunity for immigrant students to know about history of this place and become more confident in talking to other people". Despite the freezing weather, the group with twelve members including two teachers and a guilder had crossed the stunning Lost Lake, and then headed to the forest nearby. Sunny, one of the students who joined the trip said " This is the first time I can walk on the frozen lake, visit a forest and follow the trails of wild animals, everything is so weird, but amazing. I really love it". This trip was a huge success for both the school and the students. Everyone had fun and enjoyed every bit of it. More than that, it also connected people from all around the world together and make them felt like they were home. Nederland, located 17 miles west of Boulder, is a fantastic place for snowshoeing. With its stunning lake and wonderful green forest, this is probably one of the best places for visitors to enjoy the beauty of Colorado and also experience some activities over there such as camping, lake fishing, mountain biking, forest exploring as well as day hikes and driving tours in the area.
