Smoking Should Be Banned In Public Places

In my opinion, smoking in public places should be prohibited. There are many reasons that support this point of view. Smoking is one of the leading killers in world. People shouldn't die because of it. For years people have been smoking in public thinking 'it's my body, I can do whatever I want to it,' but now that it has been proven that smoking not only harms the smoker,  but also those around him or her, they should not be allowed to smoke around other people in public. She worked in an office that was full of smokers. The smokers are still around; she is dead after being bedridden with a pitiful, metastasizing and deadly lung cancer. The second reason is that smoking is a cause of pollution. There is a lot of research that shows that many kinds of gases that is released by smoking and is harmful for the environment, such as tar and carbon dioxide. A research says that approximately 4000 chemicals are present in cigarettes, which are breathed out and released in the atmosphere. Out of the total North American population 30% of them are smokers and the percentage of the smoking population in developing countries is much higher. This indicates that an enormous quantity of pollution is being released in the atmosphere every day. Everyone knows that now the environment is getting worse and worse. The last argument against smoking in public places is the strongest: Smoking in public place is very destructive for the children. Children tend to copy what they observe and are the influenced by the normality of smoking around them. If anyone smoking in front of a child, the child may be think it that smoking is a good thing but it is not.
