How does Skype connect people?

The information that is used for this particular question is just basic information on how Skype works. Only secondary data was used to answer this question. I searched the Internet for information about Skype and how does it connect people from all over the world. I will attach the references in the bibliography section so that it isn’t considered as plagiarism. Getting the information wasn’t that hard because the Internet is full of information on Skype but choosing the right information to use is quite challenging, as it might not answer the research question. Secondary data might not be as accurate as primary data because it may be outdated or changed.

Skype is an application that helps connect people all over the world. It is one of the ways of communication in our 21st century. It was released in 2003 and gained 600 million users and was bought by Microsoft in the year 2011 for 8.5 billion dollars. This application has a couple of ways to communicate, which is by voice calls which uses a microphone, video calls by using webcam and the normal but easy instant messaging. You can also communicate with more than 1 people at a time. It only requires Internet connection, which can be found almost anywhere you are. Getting a Skype account is easy. The first step is creating a unique ID and also a password to go with. Adding people to the personal contacts is the next step. There would be a search button and place a persons ID so that Skype can find it in just under 5 seconds.
