For this unit I will be looking at the different types of skills you will need for a specific job role. I have chosen to do trainee business manager for my job role and I will look at the different employability, communication and personal skills that McDonalds might required for the job.

Employability skills

Qualifications

When applying for a trainee business manager’s job at McDonalds they ask you do you have any GCSE’S in maths and English. They also ask you are they A* TO C or D TO G. the reason McDonalds might ask if you have any GCSE’S is because when training there might need basic maths skills.

Leadership

When applying for a trainee business manager they ask you to write a paragraph about leadership. They ask this because they want to know if you have the right attributes for the job and weather you are capable to take charge of a moment which needs to be solved?( for example problem solving).

Team work

To become a trainee business manager at McDonalds you will need to be able to work as a team. When working in McDonalds they ask you if you have experienced any team working situations as any McDonalds restaurant is a team working environment. They want to prepare you to work with your colleagues so that your job is made easier and you don’t have to do as much work.

Communication skills

Verbal communication

In any job around the world they will look to see if your verbal communication is good and that you are able to speak to others. As a trainee manager you will be asked to take care of any problems that your crew members have noticed such as an unhappy customer. This will mean you will have to speak with the company in a friendly way and try to resolve the problem.

Listening skills

Communication is not just about getting your ideas across, it is also about listening to other colleges thoughts and taking them on board. People are more likely to listen to you if you've shown them the same courtesy. This...
