Based on your experience through out this semester, what are the new skills or knowledge that you have gained and what did you have to do to obtain it?

It has been a long, busy but fruitful six months of the second semester. We have been not only into the lecture hall and classroom but also into the kitchen, restaurant and toilet. The most important thing that I have learnt is teamwork. Various assignments and projects were completed through hard work as a team. The spirit of teamwork was cultivated through numerous group assignments and class projects throughout the second semester. Works were equally distributed among group members and were completed within a given time before everybody comes for a discussion and compile the whole project into a complete assignment.

Every Monday morning I have to step into the kitchen for my Food production practical session. Through this short but comprehensive food production class, I have learned the way to correctly and accurately estimate the amount of food required for a certain function. I have also improved my culinary skills through these kitchen practical classes. Every week throughout the semester, we have to prepare luncheon for around 40 people. After failing to prepare enough food within the given time initially, we eventually master the skill of estimating the quantity of food needed and the time required to complete the cooking.

After the second semester, I have learned the skill of preparing a good power point presentation with various interesting photos and informative hyperlink to make it more presentable. The various subjects in the second semester require us to do a lot of presentations. Practice makes perfect and after multiple presentations, I have acquired the presentation skills that enable me to deliver my content efficiently.
