Six Dimensions of Health

The six dimensions of health include physical, emotional, spiritual, environmental, mental, and social health. All six of these dimension are very important to having a healthy lifestyle. Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. Wellness is an active process of becoming aware of and making choices toward a more successful existence. Both health and wellness are apart of everyone life. The six dimensions are involved with you body, feelings, thoughts, relationships, surroundings, and purpose in life. It is fairly easy to stay healthy with all these dimensions. It is healthy to challenge yourself, be creative and open minded. Also for your physical health the most important thing is to stay active, also have a healthy diet. For your spiritual and emotional health the key is to know your values and limits, also never be afraid to express your feelings. Lastly take care of your environment by recycling and reusing items. There are many parts of health. It is not just physical. There is mental, spiritual and emotional. You have to have all these good to be completely healthy. There are six of them and they all have to be in check. The definition of health is a state of complete mental, social and physical well being, and not merely the absence of disease and infirmity. There is a difference between healthand wellness. Most people think that they are the same but they are not. There are six dimensions of health. They all describe your health and wellness. Health includes your mental, physical, and social wellness. There is also spiritual, intellectual, and environmental wellness. All of these things describe how healthy you are as a person. (Jacob Aldrich)

In the dimension of health we covered physical, emotional, spiritual, social, environmental, and itellectual health concepts. Physical is how you have to keep your body health and well. Emotional is the way your feelings effect your body. Spiritualy is how you feel about yourself and your beliefs and how you live your life.(Jetaviel Miller) Another thing I learned on the dimensions of health is that you can effect your body social by the people you hang around if you hang around people that are destructive and are having no remorse for what they do because the are straight up G’s from the hood you most likely will not have a good social life. Environmental is kinda the same as social, and if all about what you do and how you react when your in the hood with you goons. Intellectually is where your mind is at and to make sure your on the straight path.(Jetaviel Miller)

Physical wellness is the ability to apply your knowledge, motivation, commitment, behavior, self management, attitude, and skills toward achieving your personal fitness and health goals. Physical wellness can be maintained by applying the knowledge andskills of sound nutrition, exercise, and safety to everyday life. (QinglanY)

Physical health is important in living a healthy life. It is important to eat healthy and work out so you can feel good and look good. Eating healthy is important for physical health because if you just eat junk food you can get fat and clog your arteries. working out is important so you can get your heart rate up so your body will be able to handle stress. Being physically healthy will lead to a good life.(Mattl13)

Physical health has to do with how well your body functions internally and externally.It is the ability to carry out daily activities, enjoy leisure activities and have a healthy immune system to resist disease and infection.
