There are various ways to tell a story. Most of the time, there are numerous similarities between stories, but there are also a few differences. The 1996 version and older version of Romeo and Juliet have many similarities and differences. The stories are similar in the fact that Romeo and Juliet find love at first sight and are then shocked to find out they're enemies, but they differ by the clothing worn by the characters.
In the 1996 version and older version of Romeo and Juliet the characters Romeo and Juliet fall in love the first time they meet and are then shocked when they find out they're enemies. Romeo notices Juliet at the Capulet's ball and says, "If I profane with my unworthiest hand. This holy shrine, the gentle sin is this: my lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand to smooth that rough touch with a tender kiss." Juliet then admits that she loves Romeo as well. In both versions Romeo and Juliet have that instant connection. They also had the same shocked and upset reaction when they found out their families were enemies. Romeo finds out from Juliet's nanny that Juliet is a Capulet when he asks, "Who is her mother?" Juliet also finds out from her nanny when she asks her to ask his name. The Nanny responded "His name is Romeo. He is a Montague!" It was truly a real life plot twist for Romeo and Juliet.
In two versions of Romeo and Juliet differ by the clothing worn by the characters. In the older version, the characters wear very sophisticated, and traditional clothing while in the 1996 version they wear modern clothing. The sophisticated and traditional clothing includes long dresses with big puffy sleeves for the girls, and long shirts with leggings and boots for the boys. It was extremely 15th century. On the other hand, the modern clothes included regular t-shirts, pants, suits, and dresses. These clothes were much like the clothes worn today. There was an incredibily huge difference in style between the two versions.
