Do you like being kept in the dark?, Are people honestly content with what is fed to them, through the media outlets? Are people content with the civilian status that governments and officials impose on us? It is almost demeaning the way governments and the media treat the general public, like as if we are insignificant and unimportant.
Wikileaks solves all this through its unbiased and unedited material that it posts from numerous anonymous sources. Wikileaks is an international media non-profit organisation that publishes different articles of private, secret and classified media. It helps shed light on the many misdeeds and offences that political and authority figures all over the globe commit, it provides a sense of transparency to the general public, a crucial power in a world where normal everyday civilians like you and I are left undisclosed and uninformed. Therefore I believe that it should have the right to publish.
To start of the media play a crucial role in our livelihood, but has anyone ever questioned whether what we are exposed to is the truth? The news is responsible on how we view our government officials; it morphs and moulds our perception of the people that hold power and authority in our society. The media have the power to determine what stories to report and what not to share, and by doing so influence the way we live our lives and our ideology, this as a result mean that they must uphold an honest and fair stance. However journalism today is more an industry, tainted by the corrupt directors that are fuelled by profit and reputation. What you see, may not be in fact what happened, as it may tarnish and destroy many powerful people.
