Therefore, should smoking be banned? Although I feel that it ‘s really harmful to smoke, I don’t think it can be banned completely. Firstly, there is no doubt that smoking helps many people to relax and feel comfortable. For some, it even improves concentration. Actually, most of smokers admit that cigarettes can make them keep calm and focus on their matters. Thus, they often smoke when they think of any important issue. Although they know thet tobacco can lead to disease and even death, with the reason above, they still can’t give it up. They seem to put this serious problem out of your mind and don’t care about it. Secondly, governments throughout the world get huge profits from levying taxes on cigarettes. Moreover, countries earn a lot of money from tobacco exports. All of those provide funds which are used for building schools, hospitals and other public projects. The great deal of money really supports to the nation so much. So, it can’t be denied that a part of the government budget depends on them. Above all, they also contribute to improve the financial problem in country. Finally, you should know that the tobacco industry is one of the most important industries in almost countries, particularly in poor and developing one such as India, Vietnam,.... There are over ten of thousands of people in the world who are working in the tobacco factories. If smoking were banned, they would have no jobs and lose their main source of income.
