This is a piece of artwork made me think of a peaceful summer afternoon.
It is called Almond Branches in Bloom.   It was painted in c1890 by Vincent Van Gogh.
The artist lived between ( 1853-1890), he was a post impressionist artist.   Van Gogh felt
Alive when he was surrounded by the outdoors.   He mastered all of his work within one
Decade.   Unfortunatly he sold one painting while alive.   Van Gogh has been a huge
Influence on the art world ever since.   Why would one painting outdoors make you
feel alive and abundance?
This piece is surrounded by a aqua blue background.   There is great detail
on the branching out branches that hold beautiful white flowers with a touch of pink
on them.   There are also yellow earth tones in the middle of the flowers.   The back
ground has a swirling motion with light blue and the darker blue swirling together to
show definition of the two colors.   The branches have black outlining them with green
and brown colors throughout the thick middle parts of them.   Some of the flowers are
fully open hanging from the branches and others are just a couple petals clinging to
each branch.   There are some soft brown tones to the edges of the flowers to give them
a natural look.   They almost look like they are moving in the wind.
I see this painting and think of summer breezes.   Sitting in a tire swing all alone
and thinking sweet thoughts to myself.   I am a country girl and it just reminds me of the
innocence of sweet children and how calm the summer is.   It just represents a peaceful
environment to me.   With this particular piece of work it brings me happiness to look at
it.
The painting is very good to me for the fact it speaks to me.   In one way it
symbolizes my childhood.   It sets a carefree mode for just once to step back and
enjoy it.   When you gaze upon it, you can’t help but to think of the quietness of the
surroundings.   Maybe the birds chirping in the air or just the wind brushing against your
cheek.   I... [continues]
