History:- When Leukemia snatched away Vaibhav from his parents Mr. Vijay and Mrs. Sadhana Phalnikar, they braved the loss very courageously and determined to turn this tragedy into an opportunity to serve the humanity.
In this endeavor, they were helped among others by noted artists Shri Suresh Wadkar, a reputed singer and Mrs. Mrinal Kulkarni a famous TV and Cine artist. A free ambulance service for the benefit of the poor was started in early 2002. The Trust helped 20 students financially by way of scholarships. Apala Ghar, a home for economically backward parentless children was started in Nov 2002.second unit at Donje, established in 2007, consists of Home for Destitute Children/Elders, Vocational Training Centre, Rural Hospital, Self contained cottages/suites for guests, Staff quarters and a temple of Lord Ganesha.

It was only available in the United States, but the provincial government would not pay for it.     In this article entitled “Saved by the Kindness of a Virtual Stranger”, the writer describes his wife benefited from unexpected gift which change her life. He found out that her wife would need a kidney transplant within two years, so he tried to search of new medicine that helps her. The doctors explained that her best opportunity to regain her health was to receive a living kidney. The challenge was to find a healthy donor with same blood type .Otherwise; she must wait for 5 years for a cadaveric transplant.     BRAC University gave us the great opportunity to visit their Health Sector in Gorpara on 8th Oct 2011. Gorpara is in Manikganj. About fifteen students got this opportunity. At first we went to the BRAC Regional Office, there we met Shepani Shaha(Didi), the facilitator of our entire tour. From there she took us to a remote village area where we were introduced to the project staff- Shashtho Karmi named Shefali. They informed us that in order to be a project staff one needs to go through 18 days of training and has to be an assistant for 7 days and work with a senior. Then there are 12 volunteer services from where volunteers are chosen to take care of the villagers. Each volunteer work for the villagers without taking any payments and they sit with different families with “Khana” every month.
