Shea Butter
What is Shea Butter?
Shea butter is a fatty extract from the nuts of the Shea tree, it has been used for centuries in West Africa for skin care, cooking and medicinal purposes. Poplarshea Certified Grade A Shea Butter is raw and unrefined thereby retaining its healing and moisturising properties. It has gone through a rigorous set of lab test and certified grade A.
Poplarshea is an all-natural vitamin A and E cream and is known to contain a number of natural ingredients with biological activities. These give Shea butter its great skin moisturising and remarkable healing properties for ailments including blemishes, itching, sunburns and skin wounds. In addition to its use for skin care, Shea butter is also used in the chocolate industry as substitute for cocoa butter (CBE) to make chocolate smoother and creamer. Furthermore, the butter can be transformed into other value added products such as Shea butter soap and hair care products shampoo and lotion

While we make no medical claims about our Shea Butter, we do have anecdotal evidence that it is very useful in treating minor skin conditions. We have had several customers who have used Shea Butter for eczema and/or psoriasis and told us it works as well as steroids at a fraction of the cost and without the side effects.
