Self Managed Teams for Sandwich Blitz
Self-managed teams offer a few advantages that can be used at Sandwich Blitz like having a stronger commitment, employee satisfaction, and faster product and service development. There are also some drawbacks to having self-managed teams. Self managed teams can be difficult to implement at first and failure is a risk when not implemented at the right time or without the right amount of leadership. Self-managed teams could work to a certain extent at Sandwich Blitz such as having employees cross trained to do different jobs within the company. This would help to increase the flexibility of the team in dealing with personnel shortages and some of the things that Dalman has to do on a daily basis. This would increase Dalman and Lei’s knowledge of the work processes and in turn would help the employees solve problems more efficiently. However, Dalman would need to pick team members that he trusts and feels comfortable with handling the day to day responsibilities in the work place. Dalman will have to take the difficulty of making self-managed teams into consideration as well as being willing to invest some of his time into developing the team and removing himself when he feels comfortable with the team leaders. I believe Dalman and Lei could really benefit from forming self-managed teams because then they will not have to do all the work themselves so they can have a little more free time. There is a lot to be learned about forming self-managed teams in the work

After reviewing the Eight Steps in “Rethinking Integrity,” By Sherman, Stratford, I believe that Dalmen and the location manager need to “Do the Right Thing.” Doing the right thing entails being aware of what’s right and it comes with the obligation of taking the right action. This means standing up for your principles and accepting the consequences. The most influential attribute a business can have in integrity. I believe that when business integrity is present within the company and not just on the surface, it becomes the most vital part of the company’s philosophy, and can determine whether or not it succeeds or fails.…

Teamwork can also help increase the productivity and improve the quality of the product a company produces. The first thing that the management should do to build a team it to find people that have the skill that can help complete the task given to them. They should also be able to get along with each other so that they can work together to accomplish this task. After getting the team together, the manager should give each team a specific assignment. That way each team can focus on their particular assignment and not worry about the assignments of the other teams. There should also be several managers that can get together to form a management team. These management teams would coordinate and give direction to the teams that are under them. The management teams should also lay out the ground rules of the team and what types of behavior are acceptable. After the team is organized the team should brainstorm about how to fix the problems that the Sandwich Blitz is having. They also need to stay focused on solving these problems and not get frustrated and lose interest…

While visiting all of their operating locations has heard how successful they have been using the team approach. If Dalman and Lei would assign managers under them they would be able to be more equipped to handle the daily activities of Sandwich Blitz. The self-managed teams would require training to be able to determine what type of training would help the handle the daily responsibilities. The difference between a group of people working for and team,is that a group will interact and do a task but will not necessarily work together to achieve goals or achieve performance improvements and a team will work together as one to trust each other and accomplish the goals. The Ethical decision would be the right thing to do. Setting moral principles and standards and showing the right behavior to employees as well to the people of the community it shows when managers apply ethical standards, it will also show the community that the company makes good ethical decisions. Which keeps the Sandwich Blitz with good reputation. “Unethical Behavior can happen anywhere not just in the business world.” It occurs when police officers “take care of parking tickets” so friends and family members do not have to pay fines.” Unethical Behavior is all around us, and it’s true for the citizens that doesn’t know anyone that’s associated with anyone that’s involved in law enforcement. Companies with strong ethics have found that the efforts can reduce potential costly fines decrease in vulnerability, improvement in their reputation provides great access to capital. Dalman should follow the new regulations of the local health codes that have been issued regarding the trash dumpsters. It seems like a great deal for the government inspector to approve the regulations if the Sandwich Blitz provides the food for his department holiday party, but that’s when ethical behavior should step in. Corporate social responsibility should be shown responsible by taking care of the people that works for the company at hand. It is the job of the employer or the human resource manage to treat the employees in a way that the look forward to coming to work each and every day and are proud to tell other people where they work. An employer or HR manager who deploys corporate social responsibility in the workplace should have a larger view of human welfare, and a long term perspective about the consequences of today’s workplace.…
