To Inform
To inform my audience that scrap is a commodity often confused with waste.
Scrap has monetary value making up one of the largest exports of the United States.
Introduction
I. Scrap is a $65 billion dollar industry in the United States. The U.S exports $15.7 billion to other countries.
II. While this is a global industry it all starts with local entrepreneurs like me.
III. Scrap is everything that we throw away that can be recycled and used to make new products.
IV. Scrap is not waste. It have a monetary value.
V. I will explain to my audience how the scrap business starts with local people and becomes a billion dollar industry.
Now I will talk about what scrap is.

b. Auto parts
c. Industrial equipment
145 million tons of scrap metal are processed into raw material all over the world
II. What it is recycled for
a. Parts for automotive industry
b. Steel for manufacturing industrial equipment
c. Materials for construction and building
Using recycled materials is good for the environment and reduces manufacturing costs.
III. The Monetary value
a. $65 billion dollar industry
b. What its worth at a local level
c. What is worth as a business
i. Small business ii. Mid-level business
Conclusion
