The church of Scientology is one of the most disputed new religious movements to have begun in the 20th century.   Started by L. Ron Hubbard, Scientology's beliefs, teachings, and the people who practice it are all becoming more popular in our world today.   Even though the number of people associated with this religion grows larger every day that does not mean that the beliefs of Hubbard’s teachings are correct or that they are incorrect for that matter.

The Origins of Scientology
     
  Scientology was founded in 1954.   It is the creation of L. Ron Hubbard.   L. Ron Hubbard was a science-fiction writer who felt that his income from writing was not enough.   He told his peer authors that if they truly wanted to make money they should invent their own religion.   Hubbard did just that and was exceedingly successful, dying with an estimated fortune close to 400 million dollars.   In 1948 Hubbard proclaimed his teachings as Dianetics or what the spirit is doing through the body.   Over the years this self-help system of Dianetics developed into a religion he called Scientology.
     
The Beliefs and Teachings of Scientology
     
      For Scientologist’s, the belief of God and other religions are complicated.
Though scientologists will argue that Scientology is consistent with the beliefs of Christianity, the Bible opposes all the beliefs they hold.   The very faith of God, the Bible, heaven, and hell are firmly rejected by Scientology.     The Bible says, “To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son. But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.” (Bible)....
