Definition of terms:
derived from knowing in Latin is a
process for producing knowledge.

implies that we all have responsibilities to get
involved and try to do something on the problems

Form a hypothesis

Observation

☺A logical, systematic approach to solving
problems.
1. Problem – a question to be answered, usually
stated as a question.
2. Hypothesis – A proposed explanation for an
observation.
3. Observations – Using your senses to obtain
information about the problem.

4. Experiment – A procedure used to test your
hypothesis.
5. Conclusion – Analyze experimental results to form
theories or laws.
a. Theory – a well tested explanation for a set of
observations.
- Tries to explain why, but can never be proven
b. Law – a concise statement that summarizes
results of many observations.
- A law is simply a statement of fact that does not try
to explain.

Environmental Education
Rooted in the belief that:
1. Humans can live compatible with nature
2. Humans can act equitable towards each
other
3. A human’s well-being is inextricably bound
with environmental quality

4. We and the system that we create impact the
total environment
5. People can make informed decisions that
considered future generation
6. Critical and creative, decision making, and
communication, as well as collaborative
learning must be empathized and are essential
for active and meaningful learning , both in
school and over a lifetime

Environmental Education
 A process by which people develop
awareness, concern and knowledge of the
environment and learn to use this
understanding to preserve, conserve and
utilize the environment in a sustainable
manner for the benefit of present and future
generation
