I choose the Galapagos Islands of Ecuador because I am interested in Darwin’s Theory of evolution (after reading our text book) and I think that an area that has different currents and marine life is interesting. Another reason I choose this area is because there are lizards and marine life that can not be found anywhere else in the world. I’m sure that there were other places that would have interested me for this project but I don’t think I have heard of them at all so finding resources may be difficult. At first I choose Egypt but then found that we were not supposed to do archaeological sites for this project. For my other resources I basically used Google for the Galapagos Islands and animal life surrounding them and on them. There are many animals and plants that would be distinguished if this area is not protected. I choose the sites because they explore the biology, ecology, and geology of the Galapagos Islands as well as the endangerment to the islands. One web source even explores why animals may have ended up on the islands and how they got there. It could be evolution as well as the volcanic activity, or the currents that bring a variety of seeds and animals.... [continues]
