An Autonomous College of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur ACADEMIC POLICY 2012-13 (For Semester I to IV) UG and PG Courses Under Autonomy Date: 07/07/2012 Preamble The Academic policy has been designed so as to ensure that the students are provided with broad knowledge and are built to become thorough professionals through a continuous process of learning and exploring. The Academic policy strictly adheres to the guidelines, provisions and regulations as per the ordinances and regulations of the college. 1. POLICY ON CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT: i) In a semester a student shall be evaluated for his/her academic performance in a theory (Lecture/Tutorial) course through two Examinations (Test-I and Test-II), Teacher’s Assessment and End Semester Examination. All the examinations shall be conducted as per the syllabi prescribed by the respective Board of Studies and approved by the Academic Council. Examination pattern and marking scheme for Test-I, Test-II and Absentee Test i. Total marks for UG Programme -15, preferably the student will have to solve two questions of 8 marks and 7 marks respectively. ii. Total marks for PG Programme -30 (converted to 15 for calculating continues assessment marks), Preferably the student will have to solve two questions each of 15 marks. iii. Duration of test: 1 Hour* iv. Syllabus for T-I: Minimum 2 units (minimum 1/3rd syllabus in case the syllabus is not unitized). v. Syllabus for T-II: Minimum 2 units other than those covered under T-I (minimum 1/3rd syllabus not covered under Test-I in case the syllabus is not unitized). vi. Preferably question paper pattern: Solve Q. No. 1 or Q. No. 2, Q. No. 3 or Q. No. 4. * The duration examination may vary as per the need of the theory course. The two test examinations will be conducted as per schedule in an Academic Calendar. Valued answer books shall be shown to the students within six working days after

    RULES AND REGULATIONS OF SEMESTER SYSTEM IN POST-GRADUATE DEGREE COURSES EFFECTIVE FROM THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2009-2010 ONWARDS. 1. ADMISSION : Candidates shall be admitted into P.G.Degree Courses strictly in accordance with the rank secured at the entrance test, if any, or rank determined on the basis of the marks other criteria determined by the University from time to time, following the rules of reservation of seats for various categories of students. 2. DURATION AND COURSE OF STUDY: The duration of the P.G.Degree Course is of one/two/three academic years. Each academic year is divided into two semesters. AWARD OF DEGREE: The Post Graduates Degree in the concerned faculty will be conferred on a candidate who has pursed a regular course of study for one /two /three academic years as prescribed in the scheme of instruction and has passed all the examinations as prescribed in the scheme of examination. 5. ATTENDANCE: 5.1. Candidates shall put in attendance of not less than 75% in aggregate in the prescribed subjects in each semester including field work , practical, project work, seminars, extension work etc. Condonation of shortage of attendance may be granted by the Principal of the college to the candidate who have put in 60%…
