My decision to return to college is two-fold. First, and foremost, I want to be a positive role model for my eleven year old daughter and her thoughts towards education. Secondly, I want to fulfill my own dream of earning my bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. As the saying goes, actions speak louder than words. As a way of proving this, and to show my eleven year old daughter that you are never too old to pursue your dreams, I have decided now is the time to fulfill mine and earn my bachelor’s degree. I believe that education is one of the most important things you can give yourself, and I want to be a positive example for her to see that.
I will graduate from college at the same time my daughter will graduate from the 8th grade. I feel that having my daughter watch me work towards graduation will enable her to realize that it takes responsibility and dedication to achieve whatever it is you dream about accomplishing. But with hard work, age is just a number, and the sky is the limit.
I also want to advance from a “job” to a career in a field where I can use my education and past experiences to help employees obtain things such as proper training, mentoring, and benefits. I am a problem solver and like to find the win-win solutions. This is why I chose to pursue my bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on human resources.
