Save the ailing Earth from vehicular pollution

Environmental pollution is one of the most serious problems facing humanity and other life forms on our planet today. Since the rise of the advancement of awkward prepositional phrasing technology, pollution had already started its harm as well; awkward phrasing from the dropping of the first atomic bomb, which results to land, water, and air pollution, to the industrialized world that pollutes the entire earth. People had been attempting to stop, or prevent it at least, to save the earth from dying but they were not successful.

Meaning unclear however, there are still people who do not realize the effects of pollution to everyone’s omit generalized terms life and health until these days in which many nations are experiencing natural disasters such as, change punctuation to colon flash floods, landslide, and global warming and nature extinction. In order to prevent these natural disasters from destroying our planet, pollution should be surmounted.

When people say pollution, it does not only represent one aspects awkward phrasing but it occurs in three types: land, water, and air. The effects of pollution can be so destructive; however, there are ways to prevent these three types of pollution.

There are three broad sources of air pollution from human activities: stationary or point, mobile, and indoor. In developing countries especially in the rural area, indoor air pollution from using open fires for cooking and heating may be a serious problem. Industries, power plants etc. are the cause of stationary air pollution. But in urban areas both developing and developed countries, it is predominately mobile or vehicular pollution that contributes to air quality problem. The worst thing about vehicular pollution is that it cannot be avoided as the vehicular emissions are emitted at the near-ground level where we breathe. Pollution from vehicles gets revealed through symptoms like cough, headache, nausea, irritation of eyes, various bronchial problems and visibility and are due to discharges like CO, unburned HC, Pb compounds, NOx, soot and aldehyde, among others, from the tail pipes of vehicles.

Pollution caused by vehicles accounts for a majority of the earth’s air pollution and energy waste. (Bluejay, 1999) The pollution caused by vehicles can cause conditions that range from respiratory problems, to lung cancer, and to a depleting ozone. When cars create this pollution they are also contributing to the ground level ozone, which is not the same as the atmospheric ozone layer; it is commonly known as smog. Smog is low-lying ozone assembled of nitrogen oxides and reactive hydrocarbons, both of which lower immunities and promote respiratory infections. (Bluejay, 1999) Additionally, the atmospheric ozone is also affected by vehicle pollutants, or emissions. The same chemicals that cause smog also cause the atmospheric ozone to deplete, letting harmful ultraviolet rays into the earth’s environment.

By letting harmful ultraviolet rays onto the earth it raises overall surface temperatures and melts the polar ice caps. Over the past 30 years the ice caps have shrunk 15 to 30 percent, the melting could cause sea levels to rise 3 feet over the next century. (Saturday 2004) The Greenland ice sheet is 10 percent of the worlds freshwater assets, if all Greenland’s ice melted the ocean could rise up to 23 feet.

Let us now , in short , discuss the major causes of pollution and its prevention.

MAJOR CAUSES OF VEHICULAR POPULATION

1 High vehicle density in Indian urban centers.
2 Older vehicles predominant in vehicle vintage.
3 In adequate inspection and maintenance facilities.
4 Predominance of two stroke two wheelers.
5 Adulteration of fuel and fuel products.
6 Improper traffic management system and road conditions. 7 High levels of pollution at traffic intersections.
