The previous sections explained the conflict in Northern Uganda and the use of child soldiers by the LRA. Some of the children who were abducted fled immediately. Others were hold longer by the LRA, but managed to escape. Another group are the children who remain with the LRA until adulthood. There are only a few children who remain with the LRA and secure a position with considerable influence, such as a LRA leader (Drumbl, 2012). 80 percent of the abductees managed to escape. 15 percent was rescued and only 5 percent was released (Annan, Brier & Aryemo, 2009). It is interesting to examine to what extent the girl child soldiers reintegrated back into the Northern Uganda society. This will be discussed below.…

    Drowning Girl

The image I’ve chosen that inspires me is from Miharu Matsunaga. The whole composition relates to how I feel about design which is to just think out of the box. However, there is another image that comes to mind when. The artwork is by Roy Lichtenstein called Drowning Girl. The first image connects with the Lichtensteins’ image because when I see the word ‘think’ I think about my senior year of high school where the Drowning Girl was painted in my classroom wall of my computer class. That painting made me feel inspired to create so I started to learn how to use Illustrator. I started using photoshop and illustrator but whenever I looked at the Drowning Girl I felt the need to make my designs to my greatest potential. There were times where…

Abe took his daughter Jill and her friends Kristi and Chin to the lake for the day. While horsing around on the dock, Kristi deliberately shoved Chin into Jill, causing Jill to fall into the water. Jill landed awkwardly and sank to the bottom of the lake. Chin then pushed Kristi back, ignoring Jill’s plight (she was drowning). Hannah, a bystander and also an expert swimmer, glared at Kristi but took no other action. Abe confronted the group, demanding that they do something because he could not swim. Tragically, Jill drowned because nobody helped her. Analyze the role of each witness. Based upon the circumstances and the action/non-actions of the witnesses, are any of the witnesses criminally responsible?…

    Infant Salvation

I understand Scripture does not address the eternal destiny of an infant; however, I believe when infants die they will automatically go to heaven. We cannot say that infants are innocent because of imputed sin. A child is born into sin passed down to them from Adam and Eve, and even though they have not committed a physical sin Psalm 51:5 says “behold, I was brought forth in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.” So, because of imputed sin the infant must face the same penalty physical death. However, the infant has not committed a willfully act of disobedience and broken fellowship with God. It is for this reason I believe the infant will go to heaven.…

An educational institution performs a significant function of providing learning experiences to lead their students from the darkness of ignorance to the light of knowledge. The key personnel in the institutions who play an important role to bring about this transformation are teachers. As stated by NCTE (1998) in Quality Concerns in Secondary Teacher Education, ―The teacher is the most important element in any educational program. It is the teacher who is mainly responsible for implementation of the educational process at any stage.‖ This shows that it is imperative to invest in the preparation of teachers, so that the future of a nation is secure. The importance of competent teachers to the nation‘s school system can in no way be overemphasized. The National Curriculum Framework 2005…

According to feminist analysis, in all cultures, girls have been socialized into gender roles, although the degree to which behavior is innate or environmentally determined is greatly debated. In most cultures and time periods of the world, girls have traditionally played with dolls and toy cooking and cleaning equipment, while boys prefer toys and games that require more physical activity or simulated violence, such as toy trucks, balls, and toy guns. Girls are less often encouraged to pursue sports, with the exception of sports that might be considered "feminine," such as figure skating or gymnastics; or those considered "gender-neutral," such as tennis.[1] They may be prevented from participating in many of the same activities that boys participate in at the same age, as a matter of protecting them from perceived outside dangers, such as boys and men, or anything that may cause physical injury. Sometimes boys are presumed to be more responsible than girls, except in the cases of caring for younger children, which is sometimes thought to be instinctual in girls. Girls, as a group, may be perceived as being more docile than boys, and as being less capable of rational decision making and more governed by emotional responses.…
