Sandwich Blitz
Unit 4-Sandwich Blitz
AB140

1) Creating a new position between the CEO and the location manager would help the business to grow many ways. First it would allow Dalman and Lei to focus on the greater goal of the company, and leave the researching of franchising or opening up more company owned shops to the potential position. This position could take away a lot of the stress that the two feel as business owners, he or she could handle a lot of the necessary tasks, and then give Dalman and Lei a monthly briefing, allowing them to still be a part of the decision making process, but without all of the added stress.
2) I don’t think that promoting an existing manager would be the best option. If the existing manager is already doing a great job at another store than it would be foolish to pull him or her from that position and throw them into something that they aren’t familiar with. I think the best option would be to hire someone who could specialize and had a good background in the position that they want to hire for.
3) It should be Dalman and Lei who decide the position between CEO and the location manager. If this person is going to be essentially second in command to them, they are going to want to pick them out, and make sure the meet all their needed requirements.
4) The new order of authority would be: CEO/CFO, the new position, Accountant, Managers 1-8, their specific team supervisors (same order as managers), and then the corresponding CA’s.

Creating a position between the CEO and location managers would be somewhat a good idea. I see that as a bad idea for them right now because how they are running their business it’s a day to day decision. If they create that position that’s another salary they have to afford and it doesn’t seem like they are ready for it yet. A good thing about it is that they can have a certain person focus on the pros and cons of the business and see the inside and outside of the business. It seems to be that they want to hire an area director to go around to locations and see how the sales are and how the store is being run. Also that person can help Dalman and Lei advertise their business and try to get it on local radio stations, flyers, newspaper, and coupons for repeating customers, and maybe even designing a mascot to go on the sidewalk and pass out the coupons and bring people in.…

In Unit 7 we learned about self-managed teams. I believe that Sandwich Blitz would benefit from a self-managed team because that would take a lot of pressure off of Dalman and Lei. I think that the one that they should go with would be the Semiautonomous Work Group. I think this because it would give the person or persons Dalman and Lei put in charge a lot of responsibilities that they are currently taking on themselves.…

    - Strategic Planning: According to Bateman & Snell "Typical strategic goals include growing, increasing market share, improving profitability" (2010, Page 77), which means that Dalman and Lei need to set a long term goals and achieve them for example if they would like to expand they need to set their expansion based on meeting a certain percent of their profit after 4 years of achieving this profit or higher. Implement annual training for their middle management to improve their managerial performances and productivity that includes but not limited to budgeting, decision making, profits, staff turnover...etc. Introduce and implement a key performance indicator in the company to review the performance of the middle management, and the rest of the staff to know the strength and weaknesses and work on it.…

For my Unit 10 : Discussion posting, I have chosen to use the country "Mexico". A business group from this country has offered to purchase a franchise of Sandwich Blitz. Although both Dalman and Lei are overly excited about this idea, they must both learn about "Mexico's" cultural norms, business and meeting practices, and its values. As I understand that a meeting has been arranged for Dalman, Lei, and three representatives from the business group, to discuss the idea of "Mexico" purchasing a franchise of Sandwich Blitz. With this being a very important meeting, and it involving networking with individuals who will influence the outcome of this transit to expand the business of Sandwich Blitz, Dalman and Lei should both begin reading, reviewing, and learning…

Lei expand their business. Dalman and Lei strengths are their attitude towards their business, and team cooperation. I chose attitude as one of their strengths because you should have a positive attitude about everything you do or try to do. When managing your business there are many challenges that employees face on a daily basis. A positive attitude is a key component to a successful career. I think that Dalman and Lei are positive individuals and they are team players that know how to collaborate with other their staff. I also chose team cooperation for Dalman and Lei strengths. The reason I chose team cooperation as their strength because in order to run a successful business and agree with ideas such as expanding the business, Dalman and Lei should have team cooperation so they want feel as if they are alone in deciding or going through with expanding their building. Everyone should be on the same page with no regrets in order to have a successful business. There is not “I” in team. Dalman and Lei needs to stick together in order to expand their business. Dalman and Lei opportunity is expanding their business so they make more money and Dalman and Lei can make more decision of what they want to do if expanding their business become a success. Dalman and Lei weakness are not having enough money to expand their business. In order to expand their business they should be financially stabled and have back up money just in case something goes wrong. Finally, Dalman and Lei threats will be the other business that is in the area where Dalman and Lei want to expand to. Dolaman and Lei should carefully pick their destination on where they want their business to expand at because if it is restaurants where Dalman and Lei want to expand their business at then they should be…
