Cancer can be cured by medicines now
February 11, 2013- India- New revolution in Pharmacy has evolved with the discovery and launch of cancer fighting drug by Cipla Pharmaceutical: Cancure. Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad, Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India and Mr. Vilasrao Deshmukh, Minister of Science & Technology and Earth Sciences, Govt. of India, unveiled India’s first new drug Cancure along with Chairman of Cipla Yusuf Khwaja Hamied. The new drug, has been approved by the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) for marketing in India and conforms to the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) for using combination therapy in Cancer. Cancure controls and prevents cancer cells to spread in the body. Yusuf Khwaja Hamied, Chairman of Cipla said, “It is indeed gratifying to see that scientists have been able to gift our great nation its first new drug, to treat Cancer, a disease endemic to our part of the world. Cancure will certainly become the preferred option in the hands of doctors to fight cancer, which every year claims more than half a million lives globally.” “This is a historic day for science and technology in India as well as for the pharmaceutical industry in the country. Today, India joins the elite and exclusive club of nations of the world that have demonstrated the capability of developing a new drug.” added Mr. Rajendra Kankan, Analytical R&D head at Cipla.
