Sale Force Target
Introduction
I chose to write my paper on the company Target. I selected this company because I really like to shop in there stores. They have good variety of different products and someone is always around to help you locate items when you can’t find them (unlike Wal-Mart). Target might be a little more pricier on some items compared to there competitors Wal-Mart and K-mart, but the atmosphere is a lot more toned and you can actually focus on shopping without being over crowded.

In order to motivate the sales force to produce the highest number of clients, describe six (6) features of an effective total rewards program
Compensation – what is the company willing to pay for this position?
Benefits – health, dental, vision, long-term care, retirement. Are these incentives reasonably priced for employees? Every employee has different needs/responsibilities.
Flexibility –Will the employee have a set schedule or rotating schedule? Will this position allow the employee to work from home?
Performance and Recognition - the employee’s performance involves the alignment of organizational, team and individual effort toward the achievement of business goals and organizational success. Recognition acknowledges or gives special attention to employee actions, efforts, behavior or performance. (WorldatWork, 2007, p. 10)
Development/training – development and training of employees entails getting the workers engaged in the day to day operations. The engagement is an attempt to improve current employees’ performance by increasing their awareness of the company’s goals, mission, and vision statement. Usually by getting employees more involved/engaged of what’s going on will change the workers attitude and allow for them to see the “big picture.”
Environment - Environment is the observable physical, psychological and behavioral elements in the workplace. It is the tangible manifestation of organizational culture.

Most of the concepts discussed in this chapter apply to both training and development, and the two terms are used interchangeably in most sections. 7.1 The Strategic Value of Training and Development T raining imparts knowledge.…
