MERCURIAL, THE NEW VAPOR 8

This new Nike ad is trying to expose a new soccer shoe called MERCURIAL. It is a shoe that Nike claims will help soccer players to achieve high-speed, control and lightweight explosiveness on the field and it is designed for elite-level play at top speeds. This product is aimed to young soccer players stating that they can be good athletes but with this shoes their performance and speed will be enhanced, making them better players on the pitch.
This picture shows a soccer player wearing a black uniform and vivid orange soccer shoes. He gives the impression that he is running very fast after the ball leaving a mixture of fire and dust on the pitch behind him. In the background, one can perceive a stadium with all the lights on, which brings focus on the player; and on the left side of the picture one can read the text that states: “EXPLOSIVE SPEED.” Under the text, there is the Nike logo and the official name of the soccer shoes that are being promoted: “MERCURIAL, THE NEW VAPOR 8.” Looking at the advertisement, one can easily recognize this European football player (soccer player). He is one of the best players in the world because of his abilities with the ball, impressive physical strength and remarkable speed. He is a very unique and skillful soccer player that can run 96 meters of the pitch in only 10 seconds. The relation between the text and the image is obvious because the text states “Explosive Speed, Mercurial the New Vapor 8,” and the image clearly shows a soccer player that can run extremely fast to the point that he creates an explosive path and destroys the pitch by showing a cloud of fire and dust behind him. The viewer can easily relate the script with the image and therefore this poster conveys its message.
