Romeo and Juliet is not really a love story like everyone seems to think, it is really just a story about a three day relationship that causes several deaths. Moderation plays a large role in this story because if Romeo and Juliet had not rushed into things their story would probably have a different outcome. They might have actually stopped the fight between their families and still lived. The two of them were told to take things slower like when Friar Laurence was talking to Romeo; “Wisely and slow, they stumble that run fast.” Act 2. Scene 3. Line number 94. Friar Laurence. But they did not listen and married and died together anyway. Relationships in general tend to be strained if rushed; a teenage pregnancy could be taken as an example here. If the couple were to stay together to raise the child might end up getting separated because their first feelings were only lust.
I believe that destiny is something that can be controlled by our actions and opinions, not something that can be determined by the stars like; “Is it even so? Then I defy you stars!” act 5. Scene 1. Line number 42. Romeo. Destiny is something to be discovered and longed for, something one must search for. Romeo and Juliet often talk about how their love must be destiny and I suppose that it may have been in their eyes. I do not think that is true, even if it were destiny they should have listened to the thoughts they had when the thought that their relationship was too rash.
I believe in many things about love and destiny, and while I do not believe that this story was about true love I very much enjoyed reading this book and watching the movie. Romeo and Juliet is a tragic story about the fight between families that end up with many deaths, this story made me wonder about if there were instances like this now a days, because of how people hide their feelings and intentions. This was a strange story to read but I cannot say that I was not looking forward to reading this, I hope to read more Shakespeare plays in the future.

Darkness is portrayed in several scenes throughout the play as a representation of pitiful woe and hopelessness. Romeo at the beginning of the play was in a deep state of distress over Rosaline, whom he barely knew and loved for her admirable features. Locked away, he stays in the dark for several days “and makes himself an artificial night” literally and metaphorically because he couldn’t accept the fact that his love for this girl is not returned (I.
