Juliet does not want to marry Paris for a number of reasons, such as because she does not love Paris and she is already married to Romeo, who is the man she truly loves. Juliet is no doubt a confident person because she is so sure of her love towards Romeo that she marries him, no matter what anyone had said. In fact, Juliet is already married to Romeo and she can not marry Paris because she would not be considered unlady like, Juliet shows how she is already married to Romeo in this quote, and by marrying Romeo that definitely makes her an independent person.
