As groups are forming it is easy to see that each group member has unique skills and strengths. As a group starts to develop, each group member starts to play a certain role within the group. Roles are very important within in a group because they are part of the basic structure. The roles of small groups are not usually assigned in advance, but overtime emerge within the group. Roles within a group can arise from individuals stepping up to fulfill a role or they already have the skills needed to fulfill a certain role. The group roles can be seen predominantly in the movie "Cool Runnings" where four Jamaican men join together with a coach to become Jamaica's first ever bobsled team. As the new bobsled team is starting their journey toward the Olympic Games, the five characters must learn how to work together as a group. The members of the bobsled team all have different skills and strengths that start to contribute to the overall success of the group. As a teacher/trainer it is your role to plan and carry out clear learning sessions with material that is relevant to the subject. You will need to have the correct resources for each session and to determine the length and content of the sessions in relation to the length of the course. Once this has been planned you will need to decide the best way to implement your teaching by identifying the needs of your learners, your organisation and your own. Sessions may need to be adapted for learners depending on their individual preferred learning styles, motivations, previous educational experiences and any special needs a learner may have. You may need to arrange for initial assessments to be carried out in order to gain an understanding of a learners skills and knowledge along with interviewing learners to gain an insight to any possible barriers or challenges that may affect their learning, and if so come to an agreement with regards a specific learning plan for them. If a learner has any…

The Division of Roles and Responsibilities: Although it won't guarantee policy integration, but within an organization, the division of roles and responsibilities can have a variety of impacts with respect to working practices. An example is the reframing of the Cambridgeshire County Council's internal structure in 1996 that merged the transport, planning, and environmental departments which subsequently made the joint working simpler. It uses the approach of establishing mirror limits in each of its departments of government which in some sense has fruitfully helped in establishing policy integration there. Another approach is the formal consultation of the ministries with other departments before taking any decision. Despite these strategies, there exist segmented policies primarily the transport and…

I don’t know about you, but I dread the class where the instructor says, “We are going to divide everyone up into groups of 3 and you need to find your partner.” This has always been the hard part for me because I am the quiet and shy one. Working in groups and teams can be both intimidating and a challenge. It is not easy to work in groups and teams when everyone doesn’t really know each other well. It becomes complicated when you put people of all different personalities into one group or team. However, this can also be the most interesting part of project. Once these roles are established it is extremely important for everyone to communicate with each other.…
