Role of Women in Society

The role of women in modern society is really changed in comparison with the previous centuries. The ongoing changes in social, political and economic spheres make the role of women bigger. Also, the actions of many women have influenced the changing role. Many women have gathered in groups to emphasize their rights, so feminism has appeared. Feminism is the belief that society is disadvantageous to women, depriving them of political, social and economical aspects within the society. In fact, from a legal point of view a man and a woman are equal and their rights are just the same. But what could we see in practice a few years ago? Nevertheless, now it can be clearly seen how many women possess a very high position in modern society. And in order to take a definite stance on the issue and to prove the idea that women’s role is growing, it is better to consider the question from the following points of view: women and family, women and politics, women and religion. Without any doubt, one of the main institutions in society is the family or household. On the one hand, many people consider housekeeping and raising children to belong to a woman's domain. But on the other, a man can do it as well. Years ago it was usual for a woman in our country to be a housewife and to raise children. But to make up for it now, the family is not as simple as it once was, because many things have changed. But now it can be clearly seen how many women possess a very high position in a business world, in the world of politics and social life, while some modern men, on the contrary, fall to the most helpless and humiliating condition. Today, we can observe a great number of businesswomen who are very successful in their work, enjoy it and can do some things really better than some men.
