Tata Consultancy Services is Asia largest IT service and IT Consultancy Company. TCS started it operation in 1968 as Tata Computer Centre, with the primary objective of providing computer services to other Tata group companies. Currently Tata Consultancy Services operate in more than 43 countries with office in more than 173 places. In its journey from a very ordinary company to a giant which it has become now, Tata Consultancy Services has seen changes in all dimensions. Tata Consultancy Services has positioned itself has a technology company so among all the changes occurring   in the organization as well as in the industry technological changes are most important. Now a day’s technology is not only an enabler of business but business itself. TCS is among those few Indian companies which had embraced the technology and technological changes as a very important tool to enhance the development of company.
TCS has seen lot of technological innovation since it started its operation. Starting from the first project which TCS did for Borrughs an American computer manufacturer, to providing Y2k solution to many companies, providing automated solution for adaption of Euro to many European companies, TCS has continuously embraced technology.   TCS recognized the importance of research as early as in 1981, thereby establishing India’s first software research and design centre known as Tata Research Development and Design Centre (TRDDC). Apart from these major steps TCS took several incremental and small steps in its way to become a technological giant.
