ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

We would like to express our gratitude towards our teacher Mrs. Neerja Sharma for assigning us this project report. The topics to choose from were extremely thought-provoking and gave us a chance to explore the deeper implications of literature and language in our lives. While preparing the project, we explored a number of texts and writers. We analyzed and read the analysis of a whole lot of learned individuals on the issue. This really let us dwell over the true importance of literature in our lives. We would like to wholeheartedly thank our teacher and expect her to guide us similarly in the future.

ABSTRACT
The following compilation illustrates the importance of literature in the process of learning a language, in particular English. It addresses the different aspects of literature and analyzes the influence of literature on language. The purpose of writing this report is to appreciate how literature has helped us recognize the versatility of English as a tool for communication. It has facilitated the various purposes. The report starts with a detailed explanation of our understanding of literature, its various forms and the implications and specialties of each form individually and collectively. The forms discussed include poetry, prose, novels, short stories, magazines, biographies and journals. Then the report proceeds towards language, and the importance of it, along with some fundamental rules and characteristics. After the terms have been introduced, it is now time to link them and find out how literature influences the study of a language. In the account, most reference has been given to English, but it must be understood that the comparison and analysis is as true for any other language in the world. Any language can be learnt more completely and efficiently with the help of the literature in that language. Writers are present in every part of the world and each write in their own language. This diversity teaches one a lot about the language aspect of literature. The more varied range of books one reads, one gets an idea of the different thought processes style of writing and expressing of people of different countries, differing cultures, differing occupations and different backgrounds. The text goes on to describe in detail how each form of literature, if studied in the correct fashion, can make language much better.
