Role of Conflict in our Team Communication
You will soon realize that at Sunland Optical has an amazing accounting staff. We have some team members who have years of extensive accounting background and there are members currently pursuing a career in accounting. Because we complete projects and discuss issues as a team, you will notice a variety of excellent ideas coming from each member. You will hear ideas from experiences that seem more traditional and there are ideas that can be more technologically advanced. Obviously, this will cause conflict between the team when they are making decisions. This conflict between the team is a positive one. By discussing ideas in greater detail as a team we reflect our effective group communication. We use conflict to tie together what would best work in the decisions made by the department for the company.
Example
Last week the team was discussing if and how some postings were affecting the asset accounts. One member argued that the operating account would then be overstated on financials, whereas other members disagreed with this statement. This created much conflict because everyone had important points. After the team discussed the situation in greater detail they all agreed that the postings were not affecting the asset account as long as it was all done in the same period.
Role of Conflict in our Team Communication
Conflict may come in many different ways. Positive conflicts are the most valued thoughts to build the relationship in any team communication process. This brings new ideas and allows different thinking processes for the other members to think of the same ideas as the next person.
