One of the must common hazards of the roads is letting you get distracted by small things that you probably do nearly every time you sit behind the wheel of a car. In some cases, even more so with teenagers than any other group of people, other passengers in the car can distract you, you can get in a heated debate and begin to stop paying attention to the road and only to a passenger, fiddling with the radio is also another big one, I remember reading a story of a guy who reached in his backseat to change his tape and got in an accident and got killed because of it. Another big one is people see an accident and watch it instead of the road, sometimes almost causing them to become another accident. My mom once got in an accident by turning around for only just a second or so to see what my brother complaining about, the light was green when she looked back but quickly turned yellow, the car in front of her stopped and boomed, she hit it. It can only take a second or two of looking away to cause a dangerous situation that can be easily avoided. It can wait until the next red light or better yet when your…

Another reason behind car accidents is Taxi drivers. City’s roads are crowded by Taxi drivers and busses. These drivers all they can see are the customers standing on the side of the roads forgetting that to get to the customer the Taxi has to clear his road first and give a flasher for the other drivers to notice that. This reason isn’t only the Taxi’s mistake, as the customers who are in need of their services mainly don’t notice where they are standing. Some people stand in the middle of the road, others on cross sections, or much stand beside road traffic lights. Since most Taxi’s cars in Lebanon are poor in condition, they lack flashers and break lights. These cause drivers behind to collide with there cars and cause an accident.…

Whenever there is an accident, whether fatal or not, this question is always asked: “How did it happen?" The response should always be: "It didn't happen; it was caused." In many cases, investigations proved reckless behavior as the leading cause; some action or failure to act. Suppose you fell and broke a leg. That did not "just happen"; there was no evil spirit putting a hex on you, or lurking in the shadows to trip you. No, there was at least one tangible cause. The odds are that the fall was your fault - that some act of yours or failure to act was the cause. Maybe you were hurrying down the stairs faster than usual. Maybe you were carrying an awkward load that put you off-balance causing you to slip. There is the probability of a dozen other "maybes" that boils down to you or someone else being the responsible. Likewise, accidents on the roadways “don't just happen," they are either caused by the action or inaction of someone.…
