“Rise to Dominance”
Purpose: To inform the LeBron James

Thesis: LeBron James is the best player in the NBA right now. I will look at his rise to NBA dominance looking as far back to when he was in high school all the way up to this current point in time.

A. Attention Getter: The most highly hyped player to play in the NBA since the one and only Michael Jordan graced the floors of arenas around the country. He was born to 16 year old mother in Akron Ohio on December 30 1984 B. Relevance: There hasn’t been a player this good since the greats earlier in this decade and his numbers don’t lie one bit as you will see as I move through speech. C. Credibility: Being the avid basketball lover that I am I grew up watching LeBron dazzle impress with my very own two eyes since he was in high school. D. Thesis: In order to get a better grasp of just how dominant LeBron James has been for the past 10 years or so in the basketball world I’ll take you through a deeper look at his career to this point.

A. High School Career
* An excellent athlete played both football and basketball and gained honor in each before choosing basketball over football after an injury. People to this day still speculate to what if LeBron had chose to pursue football over basketball. * James was a starter for St. Vincent-St. Mary's varsity basketball team since his freshman year. During this year, he averaged 21 points and 6.2 rebounds per game, eventually leading the Irish to the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) Division III state title * Each year his numbers climbed by his junior in high James started gaining major national attention. During his junior year he had appeared on the highly acclaimed basketball magazine by the name of SLAM. * That year he averaged 29 points, 8.3 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and 3.3 steals per game, he was again named Ohio's Mr. Basketball  * By the time he graduated high...
