Description of Riordan
Riordan Manufacturing is a global plastic injection molding manufacturer that is a wholly owned subsidiary of Riordan Industries, a Fortune 1000 company, which has revenues in excess of $1 billion. Riordan is an industry leading plastics manufacturer utilizing innovative and state-of-the-art design processes, and a precise attention to detail and quality that has earned the company critical acclaim. Riordan produces products such as plastic beverage containers, plastic fan parts, and custom plastic parts. Riordan’s main customers are automotive parts, appliance, and aircraft manufacturers, the Department of Defense, and beverage makers and bottlers. Operations and quality control are uniform at all Riordan plants, both in the United States and China, to provide consistent and reliable manufacturing practices. Procedures are set in place for the manufacturing of the goods from the receipt of the raw materials to the shipping of the final finished goods. Research and Development (R&D) is located at Riordan’s Headquarters and is responsible for all the research and development within the organization. The department is made up of five persons, currently conducting research in the development of the next generation of medical devices. A manufacturing company’s success is defined by the products which it produces. Production is wholly dependent on the design specifications from R&D, the timely receipt of new orders and the materials for production, and the processing and shipping time for the finished goods. In order to complete this process, there must be alignment and communication along all parties throughout the organization. In order to compete in the marketplace and updated manufacturing system design needs to be implemented.
