Introduction

Network
 simulators
 are
 broadly
 used
 by
 many
 people
 around
 the
 world
 that
 work
 in
  the
 computer
 network
 field.
 There
 are
 many
 network
 simulators
 that
 are
 used
 by
  professionals
 or
 companies
 that
 they
 use
 them
 for
 research
 (on
 topologies,
 protocols
  etc.),
 effectiveness,
 education
 and
 many
 other
 uses.
  There
 are
 many
 network
 simulators
 that
 are
 commercial
 and
 non-‐commercial.
 Many
  non-‐commercial
 network
 simulators
 are
 free
 distributed
 for
 research
 and
 are
 usually
  developed
 by
 universities
 or
 individuals.
 On
 the
 other
 hand
 the
 commercial
 network
  simulators
 are
 not
 free
 distributed
 and
 are
 developed
 by
 companies
 and
 specific
  professionals.
 Both
 simulators
 are
 used
 nowadays
 for
 vary
 reasons
 by
 a
 lot
 of
  people.
  In
 this
 paper
 I
 will
 make
 a
 review
 of
 some
 representative
 computer
 network
  simulator
 tools,
 compare
 them
 and
 refer
 to
 software
 characteristics
 of
 those
  simulator
 tools.

  Basic
 concepts
 in
 network
 simulation

Simulation
 is
 an
 almost
 “experiment”
 about
 models
 representing
 a
 system
 and
 a
 real
  system
 which
 contains
 everything
 that
 a
 real
 system
 has
 as
 representations
 and
  relationships
 that
 can
 describe
 how
