Revenge Is Not The Answer
What do you think is worse sleeping with another man’s wife, cheating on your husband, or a person who won’t let anything stop him until he gets his revenge? I personally think that the person who seeks revenge is worse. In case you’re wondering I’m referring to the main characters of the novel “The Scarlet Letter” by Nathaniel Hawthorne. The main characters are Hester Prynne (The Cheater), Arthur Dimmesdale (Slept with a married woman), and Roger Chillingworth (Bent on revenge). If you don’t believe me that Chillingworth is the worse sinner then let me give you some reasons.

Personally I think that is something that a weak person would do.
“The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.”

Doesn’t the bible state that a Christian who does not forgive can reap bitterness and the loss of his eternal rewards? This proves that Chillingworth was not doing anything holy. If he isn’t doing anything holy there is only one thing left. He was influenced by “The Black Man” that’s why he could do all of these evil and terrible things and not feel guilty at all. His physical appearance changed as well. In the beginning of the story he was kindly old physician and in the end of the story he...
