When I was 12 years old I went to a yard sale with my father to which I discovered a Go-Kart for sale. Being a youngster I could not afford the asking price listed, however I did compromise a deal to which if nobody bought the vehicle by the end of the day I would have 3 months to save up the money before the man would sell it at a public auction. This was the first moment I emotionally invested into creating a personal budget, and from that point on I have always wanted to work in the financial services market.
I attended Marymount University with an enthusiasm for personal budgeting and an attraction to the big city life being my motivating factors for pursuing an undergraduate degree in business administration with a specialty in finance with the institution. Prior to graduating, I proceeded to intern at Omega Wealth Management a financial planning company, which was an experience that opened my eyes to an entire new world financial planning. ()
I consider the MS in Finance program from American University to be an ideal fit for my ambitions because of the overall academic excellence, emphasis on corporate finance and investment analysis, and flexible course environment. I’m excited about the opportunity to combine the material and knowledge delivered along with my aptitude for familiarity in abundant areas of the financial field.
My initial goal upon completion of coursework is to broaden my existing skills with a degree in MS in Finance by obtaining a demanding yet rewarding position in the financial planning industry. I hope to gain practical corporate experience in areas such as investment analysis, portfolio management, and risk management. To this end, I would also like to gain knowledge in the fields of strategic finance, international finance and global financial markets during my postgraduate work in the DMV area.
My career goals would be to build off of the knowledge gained at my initial postgraduate position and obtain a certificate to
