My day-to-day life consists of a full-time job, attending online classes through the University of Phoenix, spending time with my 20 year old son, and helping my sister take care of my brother-in-law who is terminally ill with cancer. My days are so full that I never seem to have anytime for myself. The problem in my day-to-day life that I would want to solve is time management. I have to find a solution that will allow me to incorporate my entire daily task without compromising my personal time and health. I believe that with a successful time management plan I will be able to achieve some quality personal time. In this paper I will find and gather information to help me solve my time management problem.
In gathering information I need to evaluate what tools would be useful in helping me to learn how to manage time in my day-to-day life. What would help me to complete every daily task that I have for each day and still allot some personal time for myself? The first step in time management is to get to know myself (Hearn, 2010). Getting to know myself requires analyzing where I am now, where I want to be in both my professional and personal lives and what I need to do to get there. The next step is to learn some time management skills. Time management skills will teach me how to separate my task into the do it, the delegate it, the deferred, and the dump it. Information on how to manage my time effectively can be retrieved through articles found on the Internet and books from the local book store.
