All the thanks to Allah Almighty, whose grace made possible all the work to be accomplished.

We, the team members are really indebted to the Manager North and Business Manager of, “DUNKIN DONUTS”, Miss. Sama Naik Akhtar and Mr.Naeem Afzal who let us to complete our project. Without their kind co-operation, it was not possible to complete the work in a better way. We are also thankful to them for sharing the information, we needed. Thanks are also due to him, for providing us the better environment during our visits.

As a final note, we are really grateful to our teacher, Honorable Prof. Sajid Javaid Akbar, who guided us, whenever we needed their guidance in the course of accomplishment of our project.

Our research team was to prepare a research proposal. The organization selected by us is a Fast Food named, “Dunkin Donuts”, which offers donuts, coffee, sandwiches, slush and shakes.

The manager holds the view that he is not able to increase sales in spite of all his efforts in Rawalpindi (Sadar) outlet. And he has to stay with the restricted output. Also, it was told by the manager that the restaurant is not having any problem regarding the availability of capital, improper management, and poor staff.

Review of related literature brought to us that if the restaurant is not having any sort of financial constraints, then reason for this restricted output may be either poor marketing of products or improper location or both.

On the basis of above discussion with the manager, we set our research question to be as:

“Why the comparative sale of “Dunkin Donuts (Sadar) outlet”, is not up to the required level?”

And then on the basis of analysis of situation, we draw hypothesis which was:

“The restaurant might not have effective marketing/advertisement of products which may be the contributing cause towards the restricted output. The reason for not having effective marketing may be ignorance about the role of advertisement in increasing sales.”

The proposal will be given by us to work on the above hypothesis. A proper detail of the research design has been included in the proposal report. The data will be collected through the interviews with the employees, manager, feed back from customers and non-customers. All other details regarding the analysis of data and results thereof have also been given in the proposal. The details of instruments have been given by us in the appendix.

The proposal will be sent to the organization for approval, and if approved, we will be able to conduct the research studies in the restaurant. Afterwards, suggestions and recommendations may also be given to the outlet for the improvement in the working of the outlet on the basis of the conducted research.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION OF THE OUTLET:

1. The Origin and History:

Dunkin donuts is a multinational company. It was established in 1957 internationally. The owner set his in Pakistan seven year back in 2000. And after that it becomes a chain.
