ABSTRACT Corporate social responsibility provide array as to how much most corporate act responsibly towards the society. This paper report findings from the other side of the curtain as they ask the most important question is CRS toward the society genuinely practised? Or is it one of many strategies to build their corporate image, the research major focuses is to demonstrates the views of the society toward the research topic. Government of India has put a board that specifically deal with all queries in relation CRS. The analysis done by using quantitative and qualitative methods this paper has answered all questions about CRP with relation to the society. The major focus area of CSR are (1) the society (2) other business (3) employees and their families (4) partners and shareholders. Now if you are to measure the weight of importance out of all four categories it is obvious that all of the three will never exist if society were not to be there but surprisingly enough most corporate are more social irresponsible to the society as compared to other major focus area corporates are taking the advantage of the idea that society has yet to realize their role and power in the matter. This paper recommends that corporate should awaken now and sees this error as society is the infrastructure, driving force and platform upon which business circle operates

INTRODUCTION Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has brought up a lot of mixed reviews with regards to the society but they have also played an important role in development of the communities and societies. For many years government was the only entity that works for the well-being and development of the society but now that has changed Corporate today contributes a chunk of their profit for development of the society by builds schools, contributes to charity institutions, providing tuitions fees for those students who can`t afford to pay etc. but then again do corporate practise social responsibility because “is the dark horse that corporate can’t escape” CSR is how companies manage the business processes to produce an overall positive impact on society (Miller Baker, 2004). In government of India has tried to make mandatory for all corporates to leave at least 2% of their profit for CSR unlucky enough that rule was not passed and it was made voluntary This is exploratory type of research to determine and examines the impact of CSR to the society and how the society view social responsibility
