A. Quality Policy for Research
It is the general policy of the university to carry out research work of a consistently high international standard that will contribute to the advancement of knowledge and understanding, and to the pursuit of innovativeness ways in promoting quality life, sustainable development and general welfare. Research topics along these concerns will be the priority of the university.
The institution will promote and support quality researches that exemplify quality characteristics such as well defined research problem, consideration of various and alternative perspectives , use of adequate references and methodology that can be replicated by others, clear and verifiable presentation of findings, and evidences, and have cautious conclusions and discussions of implications.
B. Choosing a Research Topic
Choose a research topic that you will be happy doing it. Draw ideas from your experiences, observations and interest that are aligned to the research thrust and priorities of your college and the university. Examine the chosen topic whether it will contribute to the body of knowledge in the field of your study and that it will draw interest from the experts in the field and to the community that will be affected by the study. The topic should have specific focus and can be done within a realistic timeframe. As further guide in choosing research topic answer the questions in appendix 1.
C. Evaluating the Research Problem
Once the research problems have been chosen examine whether it contains the following elements for a clearly defined problem;
1. Purpose of the problem
Why is the study being conducted? Will the results have any societal, educational and scientific significance? Will they contribute to existing knowledge in your field? Will the result be applied in practice?
2. Subject matter to be investigated
