Special Occasion is the name of my fictitious company. It was founded in 1990. Special Occasion is a provider of chauffeured green transportation and teamed up with the first solar power-assist system for buses. Special occasion is dedicated to outstanding customer service and worry-free, safe, effortless and an environmentally friendly transportation that provides public transport and other ancillary services all over the country and exceeds all expectations. It is a centralised and functional private company with tall organisation structures with a narrow span of control and with a long chain of command. The Head Office of Special Occasion is situated in Royal Road, Mesnil, Phoenix.

4.2 Sustainable Development Of the Special Occasion Company
Special Occasion has already taken many steps to reduce pollution. Special occasion possesses a fleet of bio-diesel, exhaust gas recirculation and propane vehicles. It made the installation of clean burning Series 60 engines in my buses. Series 60 engines use exhaust gas recirculation technology and diesel particulates filters like the catalytic converter use by the United Bus Service Limited and The National Transport Corporation. The solar power-assist system is quite impressive. It is made up of four thin film solar panels. They are mounted across the length of the bus. These panels help in charging an on-board deep cycle battery bank. When the bus engine is inactive the work of the batteries would be to power the air conditioning and wireless equipments. This will facilitate my buses to meet anti-idling standards without putting passengers to 8

discomforts. The buses have another mechanism working for them that are ZF Astronic transmission. It is a 12-speed manual transmission but its beauty is it behaves like an automatic version. ZF Astronic transmission takes into account the load, speed and road condition. Then, it analyses these parameters and the transmission decides which is appropriate shifting. Special Occasion has a fleet of 530 buses in eight depots and carries 190,900 passengers daily. The profit in a year is more than a trillion.
