Causes of Stress in Teenagers and How to Resolve It
HE STRESS OF TEENAGERS

Stress is often described as a feeling of being overloaded, wound-up tight, tense and worried. We all experience stress at times.

People may think that stress is an adult problem. However, teenagers in high school, also deal with stress for many different reasons. Teens may experience stress, due to peer-pressure, homework, grades or upcoming tests. The reasons for teen stress and adult stress may differ, but the symptoms and consequences are much the same.

WHAT STRESS THE TEENAGERS OUT ?

School
Academic pressures are a major source of stress for teens, according to the 2007 NBC News article, “Academic Performance Top Cause of Teen Stress.”Maintaining passing grades and understanding schoolwork is the main contributor to a student's stress in high school. Everyone tries their best to get a good mark of the subjects.Teens may become stress, due to their parent's expectations for them to earn high grades in all their classes.As my parent,they want me to get a good mark so that I can enter the university and learn some professional knowledge.
Family Life
A teen is directly impacted by the issues that affect his family. The American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry shares that arguments between parents, a strained relationship with parents or siblings, a sick or injured family member and a change in a family’s financial status are common stressors in a teen’s life. Even if a teen isn’t the cause of a family’s hardship, like financial difficulties or a divorce, the events still affect his life.
Social Life
During the teen years, young people begin to focus more on their friends and social connections because of the emotional, cognitive and social development that occurs. According to the Johns Hopkins University publication, a young person gains an increased social awareness and starts to care more about how others feel and view her as she develops. In addition to a teen’s romantic life or the desire for one, helping a friend with problems, bullying and peer pressure can add stress to a young person’s life.
Change
Teens do well with routines because it gives them a sense of structure, and a sudden upset in routine can cause stress in some young people. Changes in routine can include moving to a new home, attending a new school, a change in family dynamics, dealing with an illness or injury, a disaster or experiencing a loss. Losses can range from the death of a loved one to the end of a friendship.Remember the first few days I came to School,I felt nervous and stressful because I didn't know the people so well and I didn't know how to communicate with them because of my poor English.I was afraid at that time,I even felt confused and didn't know what should I do.

HOW TO SLOVE THE STRESS?
The same mechanism that turns on the stress response can turn it off. As soon as we decide that a situation is no longer dangerous, changes can occur in our minds and bodies to help us relax and calm down. This "relaxation response” includes decreased heart and breathing rate and a sense of well being. Teens that develop a "relaxation response” and other stress management skills feel less helpless and have more choices when responding to stress.
Get support.When you need help, reach out to the people who care about you. Talk to a trusted adult, such as a parent, other relative, a school counselor, or a coach. And don't forget about your friends. They might be worried about the same test or have had similar problems, such as dealing with a divorce or the death of a beloved pet.
Don't freak out!It's easy to let your feelings go wild when you're upset. Notice your feelings, and name them — for example, "I am so angry!" And say or think about why you feel that way. You can do breathing exercises, listen to music, write in a journal, play with a pet, go for a walk or a bike ride, or do whatever helps you shift to a better mood.I think this is really worked,I would like to go shopping and have a big meal when I am unhappy.I will forget the things that upset me when I shopping.
Don't take it out on yourself.Sometimes when kids are stressed and upset they take it out on themselves. Oh, dear, that's not a good idea. Remember that there are always people to help you. Don't take it out on yourself. Be kind to yourself and ask for the helping hand or pat on the back that you need — and deserve — to get you through the tough situation you're facing.
Try to solve the problem.After you're calm and you have support from adults and friends, it's time to get down to business. You need to figure out what the problem is. Even if you can't solve all of it, maybe you can begin by solving a piece of it.
Be positive — most stress is temporary.It may not seem like it when you're in the middle a stressful situation, but stress does go away, often when you figure out the problem and start working on solving it.
As a matter of fact,stress is not a bad thing at all.The key is how we manage the stress correctly.

    The main students who suffered through the most parental stress were AP Frank and Ryland. AP Frank’s mother being Asian gives her a strict academic mindset. She pushes Frank so hard often times getting physical with him. She forces him to take all AP classes and does not allow him to “waste” his time being with friends or playing sports.
